Micro-Sclerotherapy for Leg Veins

Is the main treatment for superficial veins of the leg, and occasionally the face. A sclerosing liquid (Sclerovein) is injected into the vein, which causes local inflammation which results in the blocking of the vein.

The procedure is relatively painless, with the veins taking up to 1 month to disappear. There can be some bruising for which we advise you to use Arnica, and we always like to review patients at 5-6weeks following each treatment.

On average 60-70% of the veins are cleared each time, with re-treatment being possible after 6weeks. With the slightly larger and deeper blue(Reticular) veins, you may need to use support stockings for 48hrs.

Following each session you will need to avoid exercise, hot baths and alcohol for 24hrs.
